Positive Ageing Week

Positive Ageing Week (25th Sep- 1st Oct 2022) celebrates ageing. The theme for 2022 is ‘Challenging Ageism – Reframing How We Think, Feel and Act’ about older age.

To celebrate Positive Ageing Week, members of the Age Friendly Alliance have organised several information, health & wellbeing, and activity events throughout the County.

Galway County Council and the Older People’s Council now invite Older People’s Groups to organise events during Positive Ageing Week throughout the County and invite older people in your area to come and meet your group and join your event.

If you are interested in applying, please complete and return the attached short application form by next Thursday 15^th September 2022.

What is the the Older People’s Council? The Galway County Older People’s Council represents the voice of older people and at their most recent meeting, social isolation and loneliness was raised as a major issue for older people in County Galway.
