Galway County Council is offering a Streetscape Enhancement Scheme for Ahascragh, closing 31 July 2026, funded through the 2025 Town & Village Renewal Scheme under Our Rural Future.

The programme aims to revitalise the village by improving the appearance of streets and buildings. Property owners, tenants, and community groups can apply for grants covering up to 70–80% of painting, restoration, signage, lighting, and greening works.

The scheme encourages high‑quality materials, thoughtful design, decluttering, and coordinated colours to enhance the village’s character. Eligible applicants include owners or tenants of commercial, residential, unoccupied, or local‑authority buildings within the designated area, as well as community groups applying with the owner’s consent.
