(Plastic Free Kinvara)
I hold a degree in Polymer Science, and a post grad. diploma in Clinical Research from NUIG, Currently working as a Clinical Director with Cerenovus, a medical company in Galway, I’ve enjoyed a 25 year career in senior leadership roles in the Medical Device industry, working with both Irish start-ups research companies and international corporations. I’ve a strong interest in biodiversity and wildlife. and am a mother of three. I'm keen to see a society that is fair, inclusive, and preserves all that is good in our natural environment.
I’ve been active since 2019 with Plastic Free Kinvara, a volunteer organisation founded in March 2018 focused on raising awareness and reducing the use of single use plastic. PFKs’ first activity was the launch of a week-long Plastic-free Challenge in April 2018. Through local and national initiatives our vision is to reduce the use of single use plastic and inform the community about the reality of plastic products' life cycles, the impossibility of effective recycling, and the hazard to life these present.
