Living near an Spidéal for over 40 years. Aodán is involved with community development in the Furbo to Rosamhíl / Aran Islands forover 20 years. He is the manager of ComhlachtForbarthaan Spidéilteo (local development co.). He is involved and committed to various voluntary campaigns and voluntary committees as well as daily community work.
Aodán is a founding member and former officer for the Galway County Community and voluntary forum the forerunner of the PPN, established in 2002. Aodán is also a former member of numerous Strategic Policy Committees of the County Council between 2002-2014.
Aodán has been a board member of local Leader grants committees in Gaeltacht areas.

Bhí Aodán mar ball de bord coistí Leader ag dáileadh deontaisí Forbartha áitúla den clár Leader.
