Féile na Sléibhte is a walking and hiking festival with something to appeal to all skill levels, from a casual weekend walker and hiker, to those who enjoy more of a challenge. Even an accomplished hill walker will find a gem or two here.

Over the course of the weekend, we will use the opportunity to showcase Joyce Country and all it has to offer. As a local resident or a visitor to the area you will have the chance to enjoy traditional music in the warmth of our lovely local traditional pubs with delicious food on offer, and course a great pint to quench that thirst.

We will have walks and hikes on offer that will be varying in abilities so we can ensure that there is something there for everyone.

We know that there are lots and lots of hill walking festivals to choose from. But we think that Féile na Sléibhte is a very unique offering, taking in some of the best aspects of Joyce Country. Positioned between two wonderful fishing lakes, surrounded by natural hillscapes, rich in monuments, history and culture.

Grade: Beginner – 5km, 179m Ascent, 2 hours
Category: family hike
Recommended: Comfortable shoes and raingear
