Representation
Galway County PPN is the main mechanism for selecting community, voluntary and environmental representatives to a range of structures such as the Local Community Development Committee, Strategic Policy Committees (SPCs) and other bodies such as Galway Sports Partnership, Galway Rural Development and the Galway Joint Policing Committee. These representative forums develop and implement the policies that shape our County.
Networking
Galway County PPN provides important networking opportunities at the Plenary Meetings, the meetings of the Linkage Groups and at the thematic meetings that it regularly organises. Galway County PPN members have many shared experiences and support and learn from each other in many ways.
Policy development
Galway County PPN is required to represent the interests of communities in Galway on a range of issues. It does this by establishing policies on these issues. Galway County PPN members are encouraged to identify issues that require policy development and to contribute to this development.
Information Sharing
Galway County PPN strives to ensure that members are up to date with local and national developments, Funding schemes, training, events etc in the community, voluntary and environmental sectors. Members receive regular bulletins and emails informing them about issues of interest.
Workshops & Seminars
Galway County PPN organises a number of thematic sessions, workshops and training every year on issues of interest to its members.
