GALWAY CITY RESOURCES 
To report Issues to Galway City Council – out of hours phone calls will be monitored over the weekend and any humanitarian issues responded to – phone: 091 536400. 31/01/2025.

Shower facilities in Knocknacarra, Westside and Renmore Community Centres will remain open over the long weekend, and into next week at the times shown.  

During day-time hours COPE Galway Day Centre team can be contacted on (091) 525 259. Homeless Services Day Centre, Seamus Quirke Road:  

  • Saturday 8:30am to 2:30pm
  • Sunday 1:00 pm to 7:00pm
  • Monday 8.30pm to 4:00pm

HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE SCHEME
The Humanitarian Assistance Scheme (HAS) provides income tested financial assistance to households affected by severe weather. It is administered by the Community Welfare Service. GENERAL SAFETY ADVICE:

TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND ROAD BLCOKAGES
Some traffic lights remain not working, please be mindful of pedestrians and all road users and slow down. Observe any temporary stop-and-go systems or temporary traffic lights in operation.
There is still potential danger due to trees and especially electricity wires down across roads or other areas, please exercise extreme caution. Some electric wires are tangled in trees or other debris and not visible.

CARBON MONOXIDE
Post Storm Éowyn, it’s important to remember the risks of Carbon Monoxide (CO).
If running, generators, solid fuel boilers or any fuel burning appliance, ensure you have a working CO alarm

CLOSED RECREATION AND AMINITY FACILITIES 
There is still potentially dangerous damage to some outdoor spaces, parks, woods, walks etc, so please exercise caution and good judgement, observe any signage or instructions and avoid any cordoned off areas.

Generators must be set up by a qualified electrician to ensure safety.

BLOOD DONATIONS
Irish Blood Transfusion Service
 IBTS has issued an urgent appeal, in the wake of Storm Eowyn, for BLOOD DONATIONS, with supplies very low‼️
