FUNDING available! The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission launches call for applications: Human Rights and Equality Grant Scheme 2020-21

The theme of the Human Rights and Equality Grants Scheme is empowering people (rights-holders) who face the greatest barriers to justice to access their rights.

The Scheme is open to civil society organisations, including community and voluntary organisations, trade unions, groups representing geographic communities addressing poverty and social exclusion or communities of interest protected under the 9 equality grounds including groups led by people with disabilities and ethnic minorities.

Activities eligible for grant support include:

  • Capacity building training
  • Research, legal, policy & needs analysis
  • Education and training tools
  • Conferences, seminars & roundtables
  • Digital tools to promote awareness

The Human Rights and Equality Grants Scheme will open on Wednesday 11 March 2020.

The closing date for applications is Monday 4pm, 27 April 2020.

The Commission is running information sessions across Ireland to inform groups about the grant and provide information on the implementation of the Public Sector Equality and Human Rights Duty and the role of civil society.
